The company’s Henderson Valley winery, vineyard and Cellar Door, surrounded now by suburbia, is planted mainly in Chardonnay and Pinotage. Located in Auckland, NZ, the rolling countryside of Henderson Valley has become Babich Wines’ home for more than a century.
Featuring shallow clays over hard silty-clay sub soils or sandy loams, Auckland is an ideal region for growing wine. There are around 100 vineyards in the area — some of the oldest and most established in New Zealand — mostly planted in pockets of flat land. Auckland has experienced very rapid growth in both white and red wine production over the years, becoming one of the world’s most renowned wine-making districts.
From our Babich Cellar Door, we stock and sell an exquisite selection of white wines and red wines from New Zealand. It is here that you can find a lust-worthy Auckland Pinot Noir, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc or Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay.
