The fruit was harvested from our organic certified Headwaters Vineyard near Renwick in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. The grapes were crushed into open top vats, held cold for seven days then fermented with a selection of yeast, 22% wild. A two week period on skins followed. The wine was then moved to oak barriques to undergo malolactic fermentation and to mature.
This organic Pinot Noir wine would go well with wild game or salmon.

"Moderately deep, light ruby-red colour, pale on the rim. The nose is fresh with soft aromas of red berry and cherry fruit intermixed with complexing dark herb notes at the core, along with nuances of nutty and toasty oak and hints of minerals. Medium-bodied, the palate has fresh and vibrant, elegantly proportioned flavours of dark-red cherry and berry fruit, melded with dark herbs. The fruit is underlined by fine-grained tannin extraction and structure, with fresh acidity providing good energy and drive. As the wine flows, sour cherry and nutty notes emerge and carry to a slender, lingering finish. This is an elegantly proportioned Pinot Noir with red cherry and berry flavours with subtle herbal and nutty notes on a fine, grainy-textured palate."

Medium-bodied, the palate features rich, sweet, bright and lively dark red berry fruit with raspberry liqueur and hints of plum and liquorice. As the wine flows, soft, supple tannins emerge to provide integrated structure and acidity.
