When you've dedicated your life to New Zealand wine, it's nice to be appreciated

Having devoted his life to building an enduring family business and lifting the standard of wine and winemaking in New Zealand, Peter Babich has a lot to look back on with pride.

Over the years he has been recognised for his lifelong contributions to the wine industry, the business community, and even the Waitemata Rugby Club. But this award from 1989 is the highest; his MBE for Services to New Zealand Viticulture and Wine Industry.
