When work gets in the way of your favourite things, there's always a compromise
Peter Babich likes his figs, a Croatian favourite and a reminder of home.
So when a winery expansion meant building a fence where a perfectly good fig tree had been standing for decades, there was a bit of a problem. But a Babich always thinks ahead, and Peter had a solution. The tree’s root bulb was split down the middle so that half the tree would still grow. Now when it’s fig season, there are still delicious figs to be eaten (though only half as many).
