When Babich Wines developed the Headwaters Vineyard in Marlborough, we set about creating our first organic vineyard.
It wasn’t about being on-trend. It was an experiment to see what knowledge could be rediscovered by farming without chemicals. Because while advances in industrial farming since the 1950s had pushed winemaking forward, some things were lost along the way. And the mark of a great innovator is knowing that sometimes, the best way forward is to go back to the start.
