A stunning example of this classic Bordeaux blend that brings together the fresh berry flavours of Merlot and the concentrated dark fruit profile of Cabernet Sauvignon. A rich, seamlessly integrated wine that represents the best of what the iconic Hawke’s Bay wine region can offer.
Dark plum, blueberry and an earthy spice followed by a touch of vanilla. Blackberry burst leads to Doris plum, with lingering sweet cedar and fruit cake notes. Concentrated fruits and densely structured.
The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks with frequent pump-overs and plungings to ensure good colour and tannin extraction. The blend was assembled and spent a further six months with oak prior to bottling.
An ideal partner for an antipasto platter featuring a range of salamis and smoked meats, or any meaty casserole, like lamb shanks.
