Moving with the times can take some getting used to

Back in the 1940s, Josip bought a secondhand Fordson tractor to make the field work easier on the Babich property.

Only its headlights survive, as well as some hair-raising stories. Having been made for the plains of the American Midwest and not the hills of West Auckland, the tractor had no brakes. This made for a steep learning curve, some daredevil driving, and a few thrilling tractor rides for the young Babich boys.
