Joe isn't just a wine maker, he's a wine investigator

One of Joe Babich’s goals has always been to truly understand what makes a great wine great.

Because of this, Joe joined a group of likeminded peers, who individually and collectively sought to understand the science behind the winemaking process, to figure out how they could improve the quality of locally produced wines. In doing so they raised the quality of New Zealand wines to a whole new level. In fact the export certification rules developed by this group are still in use today.
