Josip Babich could run the winery in his sleep
In 1954, Josip Babich journeyed back to Europe for the first time since he had left as a 14-year-old boy.
Setting sail to London, after the latest vintage was in, the winery played on Josip’s mind. During the trip, his cabin mates learned plenty about how to run a winery, not because Josip was holding lessons on the ship, but because he was calling out instructions and orders to his son Peter in his sleep.
