If you don't explore new roads, you might just miss the bus

In 1990, only a few vineyards were growing Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough.

But we had a feeling it was worth exploring. So we arranged for a load of Sauvignon Blanc juice, grown and crushed by someone else, to be shipped to our Henderson winery. While the price for the juice seemed excessive at the time, we knew it was important to investigate new things. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is now the mainstay of the family business so that experimental juice shipment was worth the investment.
