Reviews

“Very good example of the regional style, with a ripe, aromatic bouquet. Fresh and dry, with satisfying body and generous, tropical fruit flavours, crisp and lively.”
-Winestate Magazine, July 2013

“A good alternative to the Marlborough model and a good example of the gentler Hawke’s Bay style. There are hints of herbs and herbage in the mix, but the emphasis is more on ripe tropical fruit.”
-Warren Barton, Southland Times, 27 January 2014

“A subtle varietal nose and delicately framed palate. “Good expression of the variety”, noted one judge.”
-Winestate Magazine, Special Edition 2013

“Hawke’s Bay fruit processed in Auckland, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 4.1 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, light on rim. The nose is fresh, straightforward and clean with chalky-minerally infused gooseberry fruits, along with soft herb notes and hints of tropical fruits. Dry to taste and with good body, light flavours of gooseberries, herbs and nettles show with clarity and depth. The mouthfeel is dry in texture with soft phenolics guiding the palate line, the acidity mellow and ripe. The flavours lead to a moderately rich, textured finish. This is a well-fruited and textured, ripe, upfront Sauvignon Blanc. Serve with seafood, poultry, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years.”

“The wine shows elegant herbaceous characters with ripe peach and tropical fruit on the nose, followed by a vibrant palate that’s lively and refreshing. It’s flavoursome, uncomplicated and very easy on the palate.”
