Botrytised bunches of Riesling were selected by hand on the 27th of May. The grapes were crushed and allowed to steep for 12 hrs before a gentle squeezing for a further 4hrs. 20% was fermented in new French oak with the balance in tank. After 6 months the wine was assembled and bottled.

A noble nose of stone fruits and toffee with varietal notes of lemon blossoms and lime. Rich and mouth-filling but still fresh and precise. Honey, citrus and floral elements linger long on the finish where the botrytis bite brings focus. Perfect balance.

“Full, light golden straw-yellow colour with good depth, a little lighter on the rim. This has a softly full nose with rich aromas of ripe citrus fruit interwoven with layers of honey and nectar, marmalade and musk. Very sweet to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has gently rich and lusciously decadent flavours of ripe citrus and tropical fruits along with marmalade, honey and musk. The flavours are stylishly restrained, but the palate possesses an unctuous mouthfeel and rounded core. The wine carries with good drive and line, and fresh lacy acidity to a long, honeyed finish. This is a stylishly rich and unctuous Noble Riesling with citrus, tropical fruit, apricot marmalade and honeyed flavours. Match with fruit desserts, and light, baked desserts over the next 4+ years.”

“Moderately sweet Riesling, with restrained botrytis adding a honeyed and slightly waxy influence to ripe varietal flavours including lime, citrus, apricot and peach. An accessible wine with reasonably soft acidity.”
